We say

Continuing to impress with her country-inspired songwriting, Irish artist Janet Devlin follows last November’s featured single 'Red Flag' from her 'Emotional Rodeo' album with the irresistibly infectious honky-tonk anthem 'Houston'. Released last month, it’s the first bonus track from her forthcoming reimagined album 'Not My First Emotional Rodeo' and delivers an upbeat, Dolly Parton-esque sing-along celebrating solitude and self-reliance. Co-written with Chris Markey, produced by Paul Whalley and mastered by Christian Wright at Abbey Road Studios, the track bursts with rhythmic handclaps, searing guitar solos, rousing piano melodies and Janet’s gravelly, emotive vocals. Already picking up strong support at Radio 2, including spins from Scott Mills, Owain Wyn Evans and Phil Williams, it’s primed for more airplay on the station, as well as Absolute Country and key DSP playlists. Watch the fun-packed video directed by Liam Sullivan here. Following support slots for Corey Kent and standout appearances at C2C in Belfast, London and Berlin, Janet plays The Long Road (22–23 Aug), headlines The British Country Music Festival (31 Aug) and wraps her 2025 run with a headline show at Colours in London (16 Oct).
