We say

London-based lo-fi outfit heavy wild make a striking first impression with their debut EP ‘Death Dreams’—a raw, five-track collection that blends shoegaze grit, lo-fi punk urgency, and emotionally charged lyricism. Produced by Paolo Ruiu at Third Floor Recording in Camberwell and released last week, the EP dives deep into themes of grief, obsession, and fractured relationships. Drawing from the shadowy pulse of The Horrors, the cathartic fuzz of Cloud Nothings, and the bedroom-born intensity of Current Joys, the result is a stark, vulnerable, and unflinching statement of intent—captured most vividly in lead single ‘Wasteland’. With tastemaker nods from Clash, Earmilk, and others, as well as support slots for the likes of HighSchool, Swim Deep, and Dog Race, heavy wild are carving out a space of their own in the scene, and one to keep an eye on. Following a headline UK tour earlier this year and their debut US shows in May, the band played a packed-out EP show at London’s Sebright Arms last Friday—a fitting milestone for a group on the rise.
