Blue Flowers Celebrates 20 Years - Announces Special Live Show on 9th July

Marking two decades of championing some of the most exciting talent the UK has to offer, Blue Flowers — the West London collective that evolved from a beloved local live night into one of the UK’s most respected independent record labels — will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a special live event on Wednesday 9th July 2025 at its original home, The George IV, Chiswick.
Headlined by Yoshika Colwell, who will be playing with the band that she recorded her upcoming debut album with for the first time, the evening will celebrate Blue Flowers’ enduring legacy of discovery, community, and live music.

From its beginnings filling a void in Chiswick’s live scene, Blue Flowers became a springboard for some of the UK’s most acclaimed artists. Acts who once graced its stage include Jamie T, Laura Marling, Adele, Michael Kiwanuka, Mumford and Sons, Florence & The Machine, Raye and Sam Smith - long before the mainstream caught on

Speaking about the anniversary, founder Chris Pearson says

“Blue Flowers was a night we started 20 years ago last September purely out of frustration at the lack of live music in our local area. Fast forward to now and the feelings are somewhat similar. Music, at its best, is about community and that feels largely empty in today’s culture, except in a few little pockets here and there. When such a milestone is reached, it naturally sparks reflection. Without trying to be the knights in shining armour, we felt the best way to contribute to that missing community was to return to our roots and mark this moment with a live show. Since our last night, we’ve focused on the record label—but the essence of those early shows has never left us.”

With Blue Flowers set to release Yoshika Colwell’s debut album ‘On The Wing’ on 25th July, the timing couldn’t be more fitting

“When choosing who we work with, we often imagine them in that room at The George IV. So it’s only right that Yoshika takes the stage to mark this moment with us. We can’t wait to see new and old faces back in the room.”
